Research undertaken by Australian property website has revealed more vendors are seeing green credentials as selling points, and home buyers are responding with one in ten people prepared to pay up to 20 per cent more for a ‘green’ home.
Nearly half the respondents who answered the survey believed that solar heating and solar hot water systems are one of the most likely products to enhance the value of a property.
An overwhelming 73 per cent of respondents believed that having one or more environmentally friendly features around the home would make it more saleable.
According to Romano Bolzon, National Business Manager for EcoSmart Hot Water, “The results of the study demonstrate that people are willing to pay a premium for homes with solar. I am not surprised to see that solar hot water and water heating is ranked as one of the top features most likely to add value to a property as it is the single biggest thing you can do to reduce your energy
consumption in the home.”
“Being told that solar heating and solar hot water systems will likely create a higher re-sale value for properties, coupled with rising energy costs and environmental concerns, will continue to place solar hot water in the spotlight. It will inspire homeowners to make an important environmental improvement to their home, that in turn will save them money and benefit the environment”, he
added.
Australian owned, EcoSmartTM Hot Water manufactures and markets the most comprehensive range of environmental hot water systems for the home.
The EcoSmartTM range for homeowners introduces 21st century technology, maximising solar absorption, increased energy efficiency - adding value, without compromising on the quality and comfort of hot water in the home.
Mr Bolzon concluded, “ It is great to finally see that Australians are ready to embrace solar, and consumers want the option of having solar power and solar hot water in their new home, especially in a country where the climate is well suited to solar”.
GWA International Ltd, launched EcoSmartTM Hot Water to lead the market with technical innovation.
