Queensland EcoSmart Solar Dealers - Great Endeavour Rally

EcoSmart Solar dealers in Queensland have thrown their full support behind the Endeavour Foundation, preparing to hit the road and the Australian outback this year in the annual Queensland motoring adventure - the Great Endeavour Rally, in a Silver Spur Rolls Royce.

The Great Endeavour Rally is amongst Australia’s most iconic and long-standing charity car rallies, taking entrants on some of the most stunning and challenging off-road tracks over the Queensland landscape to raise much needed funds for the Endeavour Foundation.

To help raise essential funds and promote awareness, EcoSmart Solar dealers in Queensland are rallying behind the cause and revving up to take part in the 2013 Great Endeavour. The event will kick off in Caloundra and take them through Queensland’s beautiful reefs, ranges and rainforest to the finishing line in Port Douglas.

For over 50 years, the Endeavour Foundation has supported people with disabilities through education, respite services, employment and housing assistance. The Foundation gives over 3,600 Australians every year access to opportunities and choices that are part of ordinary life.

Greg Sproule of EcoSmart Toowoomba has been instrumental in driving EcoSmart’s involvement in the initiative this year, and said he is proud to be fundraising for such a great cause.

He said, “Disability touches the lives of many Australians and that’s why in 2013, the Queensland EcoSmart team will be standing behind such an admirable organisation as the Endeavour Foundation, who assist those in need to fully participate in work and community life.  We are doing what we can to raise money and awareness to help make a real difference in the lives of those living with disability.”

Alongside EcoSmart Sunshine Coast’s Tim Bridges and EcoSmart Rockhampton’s Jeff Hoare, Greg will be driving the EcoSmart Queensland Dealer Team’s “Quality Matters” Rolls Royce, which has been finished in EcoSmart orange.

Greg is no stranger to motor rallies and has been a long time entrant in club level rally events. He said he has been thrilled transforming the Rolls Royce into a rally-ready vehicle after it arrived from the Melbourne Rolls Royce dealership in December.

With EcoSmart Solar, Brivis Heating and Cooling, River 94.9 radio station, Pterodactyl Helicopters, Hooker Assist and Shannons Car Insurance amongst those lending their support, Greg said he is hoping to raise significant funds for the foundation.

Award-winning production company Green Lantern Pictures has also put their support behind the Endeavour Foundation, set to produce a documentary on the EcoSmart team’s journey and the 2013 Rally to be titled “No Way to Treat a Lady”.

Greg added, “Our aim is to raise as much money as we can for the foundation – but we need support to get us on the road first.  The EcoSmart dealers of Queensland urge local residents and businesses to get involved and lend any support they can so we can continue our fundraising efforts.  We would also like say a huge thankyou to all those who have supported us in our efforts so far.”

The Super Endeavour Rally will run from the 13th to the 20th of July 2013, however Queensland locals will have the chance to check out the car during its Queensland EcoSmart Solar dealership tour, which kicked off in Rockhampton on the 18th of February and will see Gatton, Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast amongst the tour destinations.

At each destination, EcoSmart will be holding raffle competitions with major prizes up for grabs including EcoSmart Solar Hot Water systems, a special night out in EcoSmart Rolls Royce and a Pterodactyl Helicopters tour flight, with all profit from the raffles donated to the Endeavour Foundation.

The “Quality Matters” Rolls Royce also made its rally debut at the Great Endeavour One Day Fun Day Rally, over the weekend of the 16th – 17th of February.  A prelude to the rally in July, the One Day Fun Day Rally took contestants on a 230km short course through back roads and forestry tracks along the New South Wales and Queensland border.  Setting a fantastic standard for the main event in July, The EcoSmart Queensland dealer team achieved an outstanding result, with the Rolls Royce taking out first place in its category and fourth place overall.
